State police at Hazleton reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday along Route 93 in Packer Township, Carbon County.
Troopers said Brian L. Borger, 22, of Lehighton, was driving a 1997 Ford Ranger northbound when he lost control due to ice and water covering the road.The pickup spun out of control, traveled into the left lane and impacted with a snow embankment along the berm. It then flipped over onto its roof.Borger and his passenger, Heather C. Ernst, 24, of Lehighton, were not injured, but were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton, as a precaution, troopers said, by Weatherly ambulance.The Ranger sustained heavy damage to the rear end, tail gate, roof and cab and was towed from the scene.Weatherly Fire Company volunteers also assisted at the scene.
