State police at Frackville are investigating two assault incidents which occurred over the past weekend.

Troopers said Brian Keith Andrewsky, 44, of 493 Mount Olive Blvd., Lost Creek, West Mahanoy Township, was charged with simple assault and harassment following an incident in his home.Troopers said Andrewsky and a 45-year-old female became involved in an argument over the whereabouts of the victim's jewelry.The argument escalated into a physical confrontation when Andrewsky struck the victim multiple times about the face and head, causing a bloody lip and facial swelling.Andrewsky was arraigned before on-call District Judge James Reilly, of Pottsville, and committed to the county prison after failing to post 10 percent of $10,000 bail.The second assault occurred in the borough of New Philadelphia. Troopers said James F. Burns III, 60, of New Philadelphia, was found on Middle Street at 9 a.m. on Saturday.He appeared to have been assaulted at some point overnight at an unknown location. Troopers put the time span of the assault from Friday at 7:30 p.m. and when he was found Saturday. Troopers did not indicate if Burns required medical attention.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.
