A Monroe County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 12:02 p.m. Monday along Route 209 in Polk Township.

State police at Lehighton said Nickolas J. Klingel, 28, of Kresgeville, was driving a 1998 Dodge Durango southbound, just west of Hideaway Hills Road, and was attempting a left turn into a service station when he failed to make the turn properly.Troopers said his vehicle traveled about 30 feet off the road and struck the side of a building with the front end of the Durango.Troopers cited Klingel for careless driving.
