Palmerton Police Department filed criminal charges against Shane Smith, 41, of 754 W. Edgemont Ave., Palmerton, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under suspension. The incident occurred at 10:40 p.m. April 11 in the 600 block of Delaware Avenue.
