A Port Carbon man escaped injury Tuesday when he crashed his car after swerving to avoid a deer.

Brian E. Flickinger, 28, was driving a 2013 Kia Forte through a construction zone on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County, at 5:52 a.m. when he swerved and hit a concrete barrier and then a crash cushion. The Kia had to be towed from the scene.State police at Schuylkill Haven cited Flickinger for failing to stay in his lane.
