Schuylkill man cited for gun possession

A Schuylkill County man has been arrested and charged with possessing over 20 illegal firearms.

State police at Frackville identified the suspect as David Albert Flynn, 50, of 230 High Road, Cass Township.According to troopers on March 7 troopers assisted in a pursuit incident that was initiated in Saint Clair. Flynn was arrested as a result of the pursuit after he crashed his vehicle and was charged with driving under the influence.After the crash police learned that Flynn was not to possess firearms. Evidence on scene indicated that he was likely in possession of multiple firearms. An investigation was then started to follow up on the possible possession of firearms.Troopers said the subsequent investigation revealed that Flynn had possession of about 20 illegal firearms including assault style rifles, hunting rifles, shotguns and handguns. All the guns were seized as part of the investigation.Additionally, marijuana and other related items were found in Flynn's possession. Numerous other items were seized as part of the investigation.On June 13 troopers completed their investigation and took Flynn into custody at his residence on multiple counts of person not to possess a firearm, and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.He was arraigned before District Judge David J. Rossi, of Tremont, and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
