A Tamaqua man faces theft-related charges after an incident in Rush Township.

According to police, John Welfel Jr., 23, is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property for $61.72 worth of merchandise from Walmart at HT Commons Shopping Center. The theft reportedly took place at 1:54 p.m. Aug. 4.
