A vehicle stop in Monroe County has led to various drug charges against the driver.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Stefan Valentine, 18, of Blakeslee, was stopped at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday along Route 940, at Pocono Crest Road in Tobyhanna Township for traffic violations.At the stop Valentine appeared to be impaired. He was given field sobriety tests which he failed. A consent search of the vehicle was requested and denied. Valentine was placed under arrest and the vehicle was impounded.A search warrant was obtained and found in the vehicle was a glass pipe with suspected burnt marijuana residue and a metal grinder with suspected marijuana.As a result Valentine has been charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
