A Schuylkill County driver had a medical issue which caused her to crash her vehicle. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday along Route 209 in New Philadelphia borough.

Troopers said Desta A. Leymeister, 45, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruz northbound when she suffered the medical issue. Her vehicle then sideswiped a parked Dodge Stratus. After impact the Cruz continued north and sideswiped a fire hydrant where it came to rest.Leymeister was checked at the scene by medical personnel of the Pottsville EMS unit who determined she did not need to be transported to a hospital.
