Thefts, mischief incidents probed

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two thefts and a criminal mischief incident.

A 38-year-old man of Merwinsburg Road in Effort, Monroe County, reported someone stole a wood stove from the front porch of his home. The theft occurred sometime overnight of Oct. 21-22.A 56-year-old man of Parker Mews, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported four batteries from inside a golf cart parked behind his home were stolen sometime between Oct. 16 and 22. The batteries are valued at $200.Troopers are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred a the West End Regional Park, located at 578 Evergreen Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township. Unknown criminals removed newly installed exercise equipment from the ground and left the pieces laying on the ground. The damage estimate was set at $300. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 22.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
