A 32-year-old Palmerton man is facing numerous charges to be filed against him by state police at the Lehighton barracks after he was stopped in the area of 855 Forest Inn Road in Towamensing Township at 1:40 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the man was stopped while driving a 2002 Saturn after police were advised he was involved in a retail theft at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township. The traffic stop yielded that the operator was under the influence of a controlled substance and that he was in possession of a stolen television and drug paraphernalia.Police took the man for a blood test, after which time they released him in the custody of Mahoning Township police for further charges to be filed against him.
