Two people escaped injury in a Dec. 14 crash in Polk Township.

The crash happened at 2:38 p.m. on Route 209 near Hill Drive when Joshua Lisboa, 21, of Palmerton was driving south and Christine Desterno, 71, of Kunkletown, suddenly made a left turn from Route 209 north in an attempt to enter Orlando's Body Shop, according to a news release from state police at Lehighton.Desterno had made a left turn into an area where the shop cannot be accessed.Lisboa swerved to avoid striking Desterno's car, but hit the rear of the car.Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
