A Carbon County man has been charged with theft by unlawful taking.

Mahoning Township Police said that on April 4, police investigated a report of a burglary at a residence on North First Street.As a result of the investigation, Michael Slater-Trine, 18, of Lehighton has been charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, a misdemeanor; receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor; criminal conspiracy-theft by unlawful taking or disposition, a misdemeanor; criminal conspiracy-receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor; and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor.A 17-year-old male was also charged in juvenile court as a co-defendant.A preliminary hearing for Slater-Trine is scheduled for March 2.
