Allentown man facing multiple charges

Last week wasn't good to an Allentown man who was sent to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville after several incidents in Tamaqua.

It began on Monday, Jan. 18, when borough police were contacted by a West Rowe Street resident concerning a protection from abuse violation. The victim said her ex-boyfriend, Gregorio Flores, 35, of 923 S. Meadow St., Allentown, was at her door, banging and threatening to kick in the door.Flores fled when police were contacted.The next day he returned to the victim's home. This time he was waiting outside when she left for work at 7:19 a.m. He punched her twice, in the face then fled toward West Broad Street.Within minutes he was picked up in the 200 block of East Broad Street and taken to the police station.As officers searched him they found a white iPhone matching the description of one reportedly stolen from a vehicle on Rolling Mill Avenue.Flores was taken before on-call District Judge Christine Hale in Frackville and was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment for striking his former girlfriend on Jan. 19, and indirect criminal contempt for violating the PFA on Jan. 18.Bail for the contempt charge was set at $25,000 straight cash, while bail for the second set of charges was set at $50,000 straight cash.Unable to post bond he was lodged in the county prison.He will also be cited for theft from a motor vehicle.
