State police at Lehighton reported responding at 2:54 a.m. Saturday to a residence along Little John Drive in Kunkletown, Polk Township, for shots fired.

On scene troopers determined that a male attempted to commit suicide. He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, and admitted to the mental health unit for evaluation.
