State police at Frackville reported investigating a rear-end crash at 4:10 p.m. Monday on Valley Street at the intersection with Cooper Street in New Philadelphia, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Ronald Duffy, 82, of Minersville, was stopped for a signal of a crossing guard when his 2001 Ford Taurus was struck in the rear by a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Kimberly J. Scanlan, 21, of Brockton. Scanlan was injured and taken to a Pottsville hospital. Duffy was not injured.Troopers cited Scanlan for following too closely.
