A Schuylkill County driver was injured when his vehicle collided with a truck along a county road.

State police at Frackville said Thomas E. Flaherty, 55, of Delano, was driving a 1989 Mercedes-Benz westbound on Route 1012 in Mahanoy Township at 10:04 a.m. on Wednesday when he failed to negotiate a left curve. His vehicle traveled into the eastbound lane where the front end of the BMW hit the driver's side of a 2006 Freightliner triable driven by Eric M. Schwalm, 35, of Mahanoy City.Flaherty was taken by Mahanoy City ambulance to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson Street, Pottsville, for treatment of a minor injury, troopers said. Schwalm was not injured. Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the West End Fire Company, Mahanoy City, and the Altamont Fire Company, Frackville.Troopers cited Flaherty for the crash.
