A 16-year-old Tamaqua-area male was caught stabbing the right front tire of a Dodge Ram truck parked on Schuylkill Avenue on Aug. 28.

The truck's owner called police at 8:18 a.m. after she saw the teen strike the tire and saw it begin to deflate. Officers were able to catch up with the vandal in the 500 block of Schuylkill Avenue. A 4-inch pocketknife was found in his right rear pocket.The teen's mother was notified. After being given his Miranda rights, the juvenile said he stabbed the tire because he "was bored."He was cited for criminal mischief and released to the custody of his mother.
