State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a two-vehicle crash around 9:30 a.m. Friday along Route 901 in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County, in which the driver who caused the crash fled the scene.
Troopers said Edward Sadusky, 65, of New Philadelphia was northbound when a vehicle pulled out from a parking lot at the Trail Garden directly into his path. Sadusky veered to the left to avoid the vehicle and entered the southbound lane where his 2011 Ford F550 truck struck the passenger side of a 2016 Volkswagen Passat driven by Loretta A. Mestishen, 45, of Pottsville, who was southbound. The driver who pulled in front of Sadusky then fled the scene.Mestishen was injured and taken to a Pottsville hospital for treatment of minor injuries, troopers said. Sadusky and a passenger with Mestishen, Joanne L. Mestishen, 68, of Pottsville, were not injured. The Passat had to be towed from the scene.
