State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a rear-end collision on Aug. 26 at 7:31 p.m. along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said Amanda N. Palmiotto, 28, of Brodheadsville, was southbound and slowed to make a left turn into a restaurant when her 2012 Kia Forte was struck in the rear by a 1999 Ford F150 pickup driven by Heather M. Smith, 21, of Ringoes, New Jersey.Palmiotto and her passenger, Adam T. Palmiotto, 24, of Brodheadsville, were taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance for treatment of possible injuries, troopers said. Smith was not injured.Also on scene were West End Fire Company volunteers. Both vehicles had to be towed.Smith was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
