State police investigate burglaries

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating several burglaries at residences in Monroe County.

A burglary happened between noon Aug. 19 and 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at a home in Chestnuthill Township.The victim isa 42-year-old man ofFrantz Road, who told police someone made entry to her home through a secured back door that appeared to be damaged by a blunt object.Once inside, the thief stole several items before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.Three burglaries took place between midnight Sept. 13 and 9:45 a.m. Sept. 27 in Jackson Township.Someone stole a jackhammer from a shed at the home ofa 49-year-old woman, and then forced their way into the residences ofa 63-year-old man anda 48-year-old woman where they stole various items.The properties are all located on Brushy Lane in the township.A 42-inch Visio television and two rifles were stolen when someone broke into a home aton Bear Medicine Road in Jackson Township, between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 13 and 8:25 a.m. Sept. 14.The victims area 44-year-old woman anda 67-year-old man, both of Jackson Township.Police said someone forcibly entered the residence by kicking in the rear door.One of the rifles is a Mossberg model while the other one is an air rifle, police said.A burglary occured between 4:30 and 7 p.m. Oct. 3 ata residence on Starry Lane in Chestnuthill Township. The victim isa 39-year-old man.He reported someone entered his residence through a rear door by kicking it in and damaging the lock on it, as well as shattering the door's glass window, and went to the master bedroom where they stole a shotgun and two air pistols from the closet and a 42-inch television.
