Two vehicles damaged in rear-end collision

Two vehicles were damaged in a collision that happened at 4:20 p.m. Nov.15 along Sugar Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said the crash occurred when a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban operated by Kathleen R. Alicea, 37, of Saylorsburg, was stopped in the westbound lane behind a school bus that was letting children off of it.At that time, a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by David W. Paterson, 74, of Effort, was traveling too fast for conditions and was unable to stop, crashing into the rear of the Suburban.Police said Paterson was injured and required an EMS transport. The severity of his injuries is unknown.Alicea suffered suspected minor injuries, but was not transported from the scene, police said.Police said Paterson's Monte Carlo sustained disabling front-end damages while rear-end damages to the Suburban were termed moderate.Paterson was issued a citation for failure to drive at a safe speed.
