State police at Lehighton reported responding to a domestic incident at 9:45 p.m. Nov. 17 on Upper Smith Gap Road in Saylorsburg, Monroe County.

Troopers said John Meritt Biechy assaulted a 41-year-old woman in the residence. He fled before troopers arrived. Troopers said charges have been filed against Biechy.
