An Andreas man was one of four people who escaped injuries in a four-vehicle pileup on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township at 6:24 p.m. Dec. 16.

State police at Fogelsville investigated and said the incident happened when a 2015 Mack operated by David P. Bombardier, 58, Harrisburg, stopped in the eastbound lane due to traffic congestion. That resulted in a 2013 Volvo operated by Thomas A. Wellington, 34, of Andreas, striking the rear of the Mack, followed by two other collisions as vehicles behind them were also unable to stop.Police said a 2016 Toyota Rav 4 driven by Edwin J. Lopez, 21, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, struck the rear of Wellington’s vehicle, and a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Rodd J. White, 40, of Allentown, struck the rear of the Lopez vehicle.
