State police at Fern Ridge were summoned to investigate an attempted robbery that happened at 7 p.m. Mondayat Mike's Pizza, 3265 Route 115, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the would-be robber fled the store after attempting to steal a tip jar off the counter. Employees told police once the white man saw there was no money in the jar, he threw it over the counter before fleeing.Police said he was wearing a brown jacket, dark hoodie and a black ski mask.
