Robert Dorward, 47, of Lehighton, is facing multiple charges after he was involved in a crash, left the scene, and fled from police in a foot chase.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said he is facing charges of driving under the influence, hit-and-run and fleeing to avoid apprehension.The incident happened at 11:19 p.m. Dec. 22 along Strohl's Valley Road, near Anderson Drive, in Towamensing Township.Police said they were dispatched to a one-car crash, but upon arrival were informed the operator had fled the scene on foot.Police said they went to the operator's residence where they spotted him behind the home.A foot pursuit ensued, and Dorward was subsequently apprehended.
