State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• At 8:50 p.m. Sept. 21,Melissa Madeo, 33, of Minersville, entered BG’s Market in Norwegian Township and removed items without paying for them. She was charged with retail theft.• William Hopkins III, 46, of Schuylkill Haven, has been charged with simple assault for an incident at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 4 in the area of 100Ridge Road, Schuylkill Haven, He became involved in a verbal argument with another person and struck the victim in the face with a wooden pole. Hopkins was arraigned on the charge and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post bail.• Gary Hummel, 35, of Cressona, has been charged with harassment for an incident at 1:15 p.m. Saturday along Chestnut Street in Cressona. Troopers said Hummel pushed a 35-year-old woman from Cressona during an argument.
