The Tamaqua Salvation Army is sponsoring a Christmas "Boot Camp" to help people prepare for the busy holidays ahead. Topics to be covered include: gift giving, keeping to a budget, cookie/dessert planning, Christmas cards, decorating ideas, establishing holiday traditions, handmade gift items and more.

The weekly "camp" will begin Oct. 28 and continue Thursday evenings through Dec. 9. Camps will be held, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Tamaqua Salvation Army Community Center, 105 W. Broad St.For more information, or to register, call (570) 668-0410.
