Adult day care center holds Family Night

They ate until their bellies were full, sang until their hearts were content, and reminisced about days gone by.

Indeed, the time spent with their loved ones was time well spent at Family Night held recently at Blue Mountain Health System's Adult Day Care Center in Palmerton.The theme of the event was "South of the Border". There were refreshments from the dietary department of Blue Mountain Health Systems, as well as entertainment from singer Tammy G.Client Carrie Breiner of Lehighton said she visits the Adult Day Care Center about three times a week."I like it here," Breiner said. "My daughter brought me here to get me out of the house."Clayton Borger of Palmerton said he has been a volunteer for eight years and "loves every minute of it.""This [Family Night] is wonderful to get to know the families, which you only get to see once a year," Borger said. "I love it."Roxanne Downs, director, said the event marks "a great time.""It's a time for families and caregivers to get together and celebrate the year," Downs said. "I'm glad we can do it each year."Downs said there were about 80 people - clients and caregivers - in attendance."I enjoy the camaraderie with the caregivers," she said. "[The feedback] has always been positive, and they get to meet other families, and get together outside of work."
