Nine first-time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Tuesday.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.Judge Steven R. Serfass placed the following for a year, unless otherwise noted:Jennifer Jaye Altemos, 58, of Summit Hill, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. She was arrested on Nov. 26along Bridge Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and her license was suspended for 60 days.Sean Alan Brierley, 41, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 26, 2016, along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.13 BAC.He was assessed $500 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 30 days.John Buck, 35, of Honey Brook, Chester County, was placed on a charge of defiant trespass. He was arrested on Oct. 2by Jim Thorpe police for an incident at Molly Maguires Pub on Hazard Square.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow all recommendations for treatment and make restitution of $300.Tony Louis Colaviti,33, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 14along Route 209 in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Robyn Lynn Conklin,18, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Oct. 31along Delaware Avenue by Palmerton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 90 days.Zachary William Houck, 21, of Stroudsburg, was placed on a charge of operating a watercraft under the influence. He was arrested on Aug. 13by state fish and boat commission officers at Beltzville State Park in Towamensing Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, get a drug and alcohol evaluation, and his boating license was suspended for six months.Vincent Lee Phrakousonh, 20, of Binghamton, New York, was placed on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Dec. 1along Route 248 by Palmerton police following a traffic stop.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Stacey Lynne Settlecowski, 46, of Lehighton, was placed for two years on a charge of aggravated assault. She was arrested on July 13for an incident at the Blue Mountain Health Systems Gnaden Huetten Campus - Lehighton.She was assessed $650, ordered to get a mental health evaluation and render 100 hours of community service.Elizabeth N. Yates, 30, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on June 19along First Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.She was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and her license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
