Karl Snody, 38, of Pottsville, will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic as a result of a one-vehicle accident at 12:31 a.m. Sept. 18 on State Route 209 in New Philadelphia.
State police at the Frackville barracks said he was uninjured in the crash.Police said he was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 southbound on Rt. 209 (Valley Street) when he fell asleep while negotiating a right curve in the roadway. Police said the truck exited the east berm and struck a P.P. & L. utility pole headon, shearing it. The vehicle came to rest upon impact facing southeast.Police were assisted at the scene by the New Philadelphia, Blythe Township and Kaska fire departments.
