The adult education program and day care at Carbon Career and Technical Institute will open again on Monday, said Adult Education Director Tony Pondish. The building that houses both of the programs was damaged by water from the torrential storms that hit the area at the end of September. The water entered the building when mud blocked a drain.
The building was closed on Oct. 4 after Pondish noticed an odor, which apparently came from carpet adhesive. The carpets had been cleaned and sanitized, but Pondish decided to close the building out of concern for the children in the day care program. The carpet and damaged tiles have been replaced.
