Halloween parade

The Jim Thorpe Halloween Parade is back! Save the date Sunday, Oct. 31 and help make this year's parade the biggest and best ever.Everyone in the community is invited to march in the parade. parade@jimthorpenews.com to sign-up or volunteer to help.ELCA meetingThe Hazleton/Lehighton Cluster Women of the ELCA will gather at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sixth and North streets, Jim Thorpe for the Fall Cluster event on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 8:45 a.m. until noon.The theme will be "Learning About Camp Noah." Congregational pastor, Ruth Doty, will be the speaker. She is the Northeastern PA. synod's Disaster Preparedness & Recovery Advocate, and will share her recent firsthand experience to Camp Noah in Montana.Camp Noah is a program specifically designed for children in kindergarten through sixth grade, day camp-style, that helps them process a traumatic event in their lives (flood, coal mine disaster ...).There will also be worship devotions, reports from officers, and time for fellowship.
