Carbon County officials want to educate agencies on community partnerships to benefit the children of the area.
That's why the Carbon County Interagency and Family Collaborative Board is organizing its annual human services priority brunch for area legislators and the public.The event will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on April 7 at the Penn Forest Township Building.This year's topic is "Strengthening Community Partnerships by Identifying Barriers for Carbon County Youth."During the event, community members will talk about important issues to Carbon County's present state and future.Details on the brunch will be announced soon, but the group is currently seeking sponsors for the event.Sponsors help offset the cost of the brunch, as well as fund the annual $500 grant that is awarded to one county agency or community group who meets the criteria of the organization's mission.To become a sponsor, donations can be sent to Interagency Council of Carbon County c/o Melinda Graver, Penn State Extension, 529 Lentz Trail, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. Checks can be made payable to Interagency Council of Carbon County.Deadline for sponsorship is March 24.
