April 2, 1987 John Mateyak captures three events in the boys meet while Missie Chinchar and Denise Stahler each earn double wins in the girls to help Tamaqua gain a sweep of North Schuylkill in Schuylkill League track action. Mateyak claims the discus, javelin and shot put as the Raiders cruise to a 107 1/2-42 1/2 victory. The winners also receive a pair of firsts from Eric Woodring in the 1600 and 3200. Chinchar breaks the tape in the 100 hurdles and 400 with Stahler taking first in the 100 and long jump. The Lady Raiders, who post a 108-33 win, also capture all three relay events.
