April 15, 1968 Dan Truskey and Scott Whetstone both earn two firsts to help Tamaqua record an 89 1/2-60 1/2 track victory against Schuylkill Haven. Truskey wins the 880 in 2:13.1 and cops the javelin with a throw of 175-5 1/2. Whetstone, meanwhile, captures the broad jump with a leap of 16-7 1/2 and the triple jump with a distance of 36-2. The Blue Raiders, coached by Herry Fetterman, also receive individual firsts from Joe Ruggeri (440), Sam Parfitt (2-mile), Jim Barron (discus), Ben Schietrum (high jump) and Tom Rarick (180 hurdles).
