An art gallery exhibit featuring the work of Paula Zelienka will open this evening at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.
An artist meet-and-greet session will be held with Zelienka of Palmerton from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.Light refreshments will be served.The event is free.Zelienka loves working in watercolors and acrylics, and offers private paint parties and fundraiser events, while leading the art classes at the Tamaqua Community Art Center.She has been teaching art classes at St. John Neumann Regional School for more than 10 years.Zelienka's work captures the essence of her subject - the spirit of a person or the core element of an inanimate object.She has studied at Northampton County Community College, as well as taking lessons from artists Mary Kocher and William Wentz.
