Lehighton crews battle car fire

A car fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in Lehighton is believed to be caused by an electrical problem.

The Lehighton Fire Company responded. The car is a total loss. There was no damage to other vehicles.General Motors has recalled 218,000 Chevrolet Aveos from the 2004-2008 model years because they could catch fire.According to GM, the daytime running light module in the instrument panel could overheat, melt and cause a fire.It is not known if this was the issue.
