A former Carbon County resident was sentenced to a county prison term on Thursday on a drug dealing charge, while two other defendants in drug cases were also given jail terms. The three, who previously pleaded to the charges, appeared before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Summit Hill incidentJeffrey James Kaminitsky, 26, of Blakeslee, and formerly of Summit Hill, was sentenced to serve seven to one day less 24 months in prison on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. On a possession of drug paraphernalia charge he was placed on probation for a year, concurrent with the first count.He was arrested by agents of the state attorney general's office, and county drug task force, who served a warrant on his then residence at 106 E. Holland St., Summit Hill, following an investigation that included controlled drug buys.Various drugs and drug paraphernalia including cocaine were found in the home.Kaminitsky told Matika, "I take full responsibility for my actions. I did it to support my habit." He added he wants to enter an inpatient, long-term rehabilitation program.Matika told Kaminitsky that he had a tough road because he was surrounded by family members also involved in drug use. He said it was time Kaminitsky break away from those family ties.Matika added, "You were a user selling to support your habit."In addition to the jail term Matika ordered Kaminitsky to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, render 75 hours of community service and supply a DNA sample.He was given credit for 182 days spent in prison on the charge. Kaminitsky is an inmate in the county prison.Vehicle stopsDennis J. Rauch, 31, of Clearfield, Cambria County, was sentenced to serve six to one day less 24 months in prison on a possession of a controlled substance charge.He was arrested following a vehicle stop along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge on Feb. 11.Rauch was a passenger in the vehicle in which crack cocaine was found, and he admitted it was his.Matika also ordered him to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, and render 50 hours of community service.Rauch was given credit for 184 days spent in jail on the charge and was paroled.William Richard Anderson,41, of Shamokin, was sentenced to serve six to 18 months in prison on a possession with intent to deliver charge.He was arrested on July 27, 2015, following a vehicle stop along westbound Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge. A vehicle search recovered 590 grams of marijuana.Matika also ordered him to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, supply a DNA sample, and render 50 hours of community service when released on parole.He will begin the jail term on Aug. 29 at 5 p.m.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
