Mahoning Valley Speedway canceled its schedule this past Saturday, May 10 due to an impending weather forecast of rain and thunderstorms.
The main event was to be a $3500 to win 100-lap feature for the Modified division. At the present time there has not been a decision on when or if that race will be made up. This was the second week that the track had canceled the 100-lap show.Looking ahead to Saturday, May 17, a complete six division program of Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks will be run along with a Small Car Enduro.Enduro rules can be found on the track's website at www.mahoningvalley-speedway.com.There will also be a Car Cruise that will be held during intermission and runs in conjunction with a car show starting at 10 a.m. at the Mahoning Valley Farmers Market which is adjacent to the speedway.May 17 will also be Pocono Raceway Night. Representatives from Pocono, including track mascot Tricky the Fox, will be at Mahoning to hand out select tickets for the upcoming races at the "Tricky Triangle" which include the Pocono ARCA 200 on June 7, the Pocono NASCAR Sprint Cup Series 400 race on June 8 and the Pocono INDYCAR 500 Fueled by Sunoco on July 6.Track management would like to remind all those with pit wrist bands from the May 3 cancellation that they will be honored for the next two weeks, May 17 and 24.
