RON GOWER/TIMES NEWS Anthracite Little League starts season Jonathan Vermillion tosses out first pitch to open the season of the Anthracite Little League, during opening game ceremonies at the Nesquehoning Little League field. The league consists of teams from Lansford, Nesquehoning, and Summit Hill. The opening ceremonies consisted of a parade by participants in both T-ball and little league of the Anthracite League, and then a ceremony in which jerseys were handing out to graduating members and the first pitch was tossed. The second pitch was hurled by Staff Sgt. Chuck Byers, a National Guard member who served in Iraq and is a coach in the league.
