Twelve area residents among 116 arraigned on criminal counts

Twelve area residents were among 116 who were arraigned recently on criminal charges in the office of District Attorney James P. Goodman at the Schuylkill County courthouse in Pottsville. All entered pleas of not guilty to the charges filed against them and requested jury trials. They were:

Andre J. Smith-Morales, 29, of 125 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, charged by Patrolman Brian Thompson, Rush Township police, with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (CS) and one count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana (11.2 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft of $28.13 in mechandise from Walmart Store in Hometown.David Frederick, 58, of 51 Chain Circle, New Ringgold, charged by Patrolman Dale Osenbach, West Penn Township police, with indecent assault.Craig Kovac, 46, of 116 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, charged by Officer MaryBeth Elias, Kline Township police, with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, driving while operating privileges were suspended and disorderly conduct.Drew Daniel Labar, 22, of 10 1/2 S. Greenwood St., Tamaqua, charged by Patrolman Karl Harig, Tamaqua police, with theft of personal property belonging to Michelle and Daniel Lab of 106 Clay Street, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass.Michael Francis Jeville, 23, of 21 Iron St., Brandonville, charged by Trooper Scott Grochowski with two counts of terroristic threats and harassment of Joseph Conti and his son, Brandon, 235 Main Boulevard and Swank Road, East Union Township and one count of defiant trespass.Larry L. Wagner Jr., 32, of 300 1/2 Arlington St., Tamaqua, charged by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh, Mahanoy City police,with possession of a CS and drug paraphernalia, driving while his operating privileges were suspended and windshield obstruction.William Joseph Johnson, 58, of 36 Hunter St., Tamaqua, charged by Trooper Robert Kluge with DUI, failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic, failing to drive at a safe speed and careless driving when stopped on Pheasant Run Road in West Brunswick Township.Samuel Parker Miller Jr., 51, of 401 Tyson St., New Ringgold, charged by Trooper John Carr with DUI, being a habitual offender of the motor vehicle code, failing to have a driver's license, driving while operating privileges were suspended, failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic and failing to give notice of a vehicle accident to police after his truck was involved in a collision on SR61 in Deer Lake Borough.William Yalowey, 37, of 21 Schuylkill Avenue, Tamaqua, charged by State Attorney General's Office with violation of the public welfare code by obtaining $1,064 in food stamps.Robert W.
