June 9, 2003 Tamaqua rallies for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out a 3-2 victory over Danville in the PIAA Class AAA state semifinals. Zak Kupchinsky starts the rally with a single and Tory Graver follows with another basehit. Marshall Garger's bunt hit loads the bases. A grounder by Kyle Spotts plates the tying run while an error on a ball hit by Caleb Calarco allows the winning run to race home. Calarco pitches a five-hitter to earn the mound win while Garger ends the contest with three hits. The Raiders, coached by Jeff Reading, receive their first run on Allen Graver's RBI single.
