Final site plans for a new high school next to Lehighton Fairgrounds were approved by Lehighton Borough Council with 13 conditions attached. Among those conditions s that sidewalks will have to be installed on the south side of Mahoning Street (Route 902) from Main Gate Inn to the Gardens of Gypsy Hill apartment complex. In favor of approving the plans were councilmen Darryl Arner, Donald Rehrig, and William Noll. Opposed was James Hall. Three council members were absent.
