Pit bull injures 3 persons

On Thursday, at 12:01 p.m., Pocono Mountain Regional police responded to Nadine Boulevard in Stillwater Lakes for a report of a pit bull that attacked and killed another dog and attacked and injured three people.

Upon arrival police observed a female that had control of the pit bull in question. There were two males on the front porch of the residence that were attacked by the dog. The males were identified as Vito, 24, and Matthew Mancini III, 27, both of Pocono Summit. Both Mancinis' received bite wounds to their leg and calf areas.A German Sheperd at the Mancini residence was also injured. Both Mancinis were transported to Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. Another male, Daniel Sosin, 50 of Pocono Summit, was attacked by the dog in front of 2323 Nadine Blvd.Sosin was bit in the left hand and his right calf. Sosin sustained his injuries fighting off the pit bull that was attacking his Yorkshire terrier. Sosin's dog died from its injuries.The pit bull was placed in quarantine and charges are pending against the owner, Patricia Briggs, 47 of Pocono Summit.
