Towamensing, Franklin Township Grey and Jim Thorpe Blue all posted wins in the Panther Valley 11-12 Little League Tournament.
PANTHER VALLEY 11-12 LLTOURNAMENTTowamensing-Tamaqua White 12Luke Eitner pitched five shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out 11, to lead Towamensing to a 7-0 win over Tamaqua White 12.Eitner added two hits, one a double, to help his own cause. Towamensing also received two-base hits from Owen Schoch, Tyler Haydt and Ben Netnik.For Tamaqua, Jen Fredrickson had a double.FT Grey-JT RedAlex Hawk hit a three-run double in the sixth inning to give Franklin Township Grey a 6-5 walkoff win over Jim Thorpe Red.Hunter Fristick and Mason Bardnt singled to open the sixth and Tyler Lilly walked to load the bases. Hawk, who also pitched 4 innings in the contest, delivered his double to plate all three runners.Josh Smith gained the pitching win in relief of Hawk.Tyler Hartman tossed five solid innings for JT while Joyce finished with two hits and two RBIs.JT Blue-AnthraciteSebastian Rodriguez fired a three-hitter and also added a home run at the plate to lead Jim Thorpe Blue to a 12-1 win over Anthracite.Colin Binder collected two hits, one a solo homer, while Nick Goff also blasted a two-run shot.The winners also received two hits from Nate Rosahac.For Anthracite, Megan Pascoe had a hit and scored a run.
