July 29, 2006 Josh Hunter of Tamaqua crosses the finish line in a time of 17:25 to claim first place in the Fifth Annual Frank DeFebo Memorial 5K Run/Walk. Hunter, who bests a field of 67 to earn his victory, crosses 29 seconds ahead of runner-up John Boyle of Hometown. Third goes to John Martino of Jim Thorpe. Tamaqua's Jessica Walton is the top female finisher by turning in a time of 21:47. Jackie Hawk captures second and Dominique Ramer ends in third.
