September 16, 1967 Jim Thorpe uses a balanced rushing attack and an outstanding defensive effort to gain a 19-0 victory over Marian. The Olympians, coached by Angie Konstas, limit their opponent to minus-26 yards of offense. Mike Slivka, Joe Lazorick and Paul Simmons each gain at least 50 yards on the ground and score a touchdown. Lazorick's score, a three-yard run, is set up by his interception on defense. He also finishes with a team-high 59 yards rushing.
