Marian High School's Abbey Whildin will further her academic and basketball careers at Division III Marymount University in Arlington, Va.

Whildin was a four-year starter (two years at Panther Valley; two years at Marian) in basketball, where she was a 1,000-point scorer during her career.This past season, Whildin helped Marian capture the Schuylkill League Division III championship by averaging 13.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game. She also had 28 three-pointers.Her outstanding season earned her Schuylkill Division III first team all-star status. She also earned defensive team and academic team recognition.During her career, Whildin was a three-time Times News first-team all-starIn addition to playing basketball, Whildin is a member of SADD, the National Honor Society, and the FBLA.Abbey is daughter of Herb and Suzanne Whildin. She plans to major in Biology at Marymount.
