Tamaqua school board reorganizes

The same leadership will remain at the controls for Tamaqua Area School Board next year.

Director Larry Wittig was reappointed as board president on an 8-0 vote during the school board’s annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday. Director Mark Rother was absent.

The board also reappointed Director Thomas Rottet as board vice president.

In addition, the board also reappointed Jeffrey P. Bowe as board solicitor, with the retainer at $5,200, and hourly rate of $175.

The board set its 2019 meeting schedule, and will continue to hold workshops on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. and regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
